FC Bayern Munich added firepower to its roster by inking scoring machine Malcolm Delaney to a one-year deal on Tuesday. Delaney (1.91 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Budivelnik Kiev, where he averaged 16.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 16 Eurocup games last season. He was chosen to the All-Eurocup first team and broke several records in Game 1 of the semifinals against Uxue Bilbao Basket. Delaney finished with 38 points to set a new semifinal scoring mark in the competition, the first of his four records on the night. The others were his performance index rating of 47, the highest in a semifinal game, and his 14-for-16 shooting from the foul line, the most free throws attempted or made in a semifinal game during the Eurocup’s 11-season history. He was the 2012-13 Eurocup’s top scorer, accumulating 257 points. Delaney has also played for Elan Chalon-sur-Saone since he finished his college career with Virginia Tech. Delaney helped Budivelnik win the Ukrainian League title last season and lifted the French League, Semaine des As and French Cup trophies with Chalon in 2012.
